Prior to inhabiting the historic Pontiac Building designed by Holabird and Roche in 1891, 88 Brand Partners invited us to realize their vision for a open, collaborative workspace. We transformed 8-10 private offices into one big airy space with floor to ceiling glass walls and panoramic view of the classic Printers Row neighborhood. Each workspace has floor to ceiling cork and dry erase walls to fully accept their collaborative spirit. The benching and reception chairs were designed and manufactured by Herman Miller in Zeeland, Michigan. And several vintage pieces are placed throughout.
We ripped out the old and worn carpet from the 90's to reveal the original wood flooring that radiates throughout the space. Some of the slats were pulled from the south side of the space to complete the north side and the open area has carpet from JJInvision which is manufactured in Georgia.
One of the most favorite rooms in the space, the conference room, showcases a custom-built table by Strand who collaborated with the 88 team on the design. The old growth wood came from a local urban forestry who salvages fallen trees responsibly. The beautiful light fixtures above are an original Strand design.
All the plants were cared for and repotted by Sprout our favorite local plant shop. The flat files that were once stacked and used as their cutting area were turned into rolling coffee tables.
